Navigare necesse est
Today is a very silent day. Anna Sofie is back in London and Emilie is with a friend.
It has been great to be together the three of us again – I feel so absolutely happy and content about my two girls. Seeing them develop their skills and personalities and become more and more self-reliant and independent is truly wonderful.
The house is still dwelling in the atmosphere of Christmas. I’m writing my last Christmas greeting cards….and a couple of new articles for Somerset. Tomorrow is New Years Eve – and my Dad´s birthday – so I hope to get my writing finished tonight!

Bless you!
Sisters walking at the seaside. What else to say…
Oh yes: We’re going to celebrate Christmas with my brothers and their families and our parents, I won’t be here the next couple of days – so let me wish you all a very merry Christmas!

Piles of notebooks and to-do-lists
Immediately after Christmas the preparations of more creative tasks are queuing up and to handle it I have already started to plan and organize my way through.
I prefer to work spontaniously but I also do realize the necessity of longer term planning when it comes to the superior guidelines so have a sneak peak at my next projects: major fix points will be an Easter Exhibition in Silkeborg, a Bookart Fair in Seoul, a Collage Exhibition in Vilnius (hopefully! – I still wait for an answer though) and an Artists´ Book Exhibition in Hinnerup with X-piir
Another few projects are in the melting pot at the moment – I promise to tell you more if they come out successful…
(Now you probably understand why I need this pile of notebooks. On the other hand one should never exaggerate ones needs so I’ll consider stocking at least some of them at my web shop ne of these days…)

More December
Look into my heart: a lot of dreaming and planning is taking place these days.
First but not least I make up plans for Christmas of course. Luckily I’m equal to the situation – so far: Most of the presents are fixed except for the wrapping, some of the greetings have even been written and posted and I’m determined not to overdo the cleaning and cooking, I really don’t want to get carried away by ambitions! No perfect Christmas home here – a general clean and kind one will do!
And remember – best of all – we´ll see Anna Sofie in less than a week!

An unconventional Nutcracker
Yesterday Emilie, Marie, Granddad and I went to see the Nutcracker at Aarhus´ Theatre. The traditional fairy-tail-ballet was transformed into an out of breath innovative hip hop break dance performance. Really, really well done!
Afterwards we even met Bente & Ida for a cup of afternoon tea.
The city was absolutely overcrowded, no surprise; the big Christmas shopping is peaking now but anyhow Lynfabrikken, located at third floor in a backyard, happened to be exactly the perfect calm, cosy and cool place to spend a couple of hours in good company .

December
Welcome December, favourite month of mine.
How I enjoy the preparations, the expectations and experiences – the very sight, smell and atmosphere of December!
I really try to keep it simple somehow. I don’t decorate an awful lot; my place is small and too much stuff quickly makes it look heavy and overloaded. A few candles, a basket of red apples, a green branch of spruce, a bit of ivory or moss will do it as far as I’m concerned.
I pick the best of the possibilities and try to leave out some of the more stressful duties. Of course I plan to take an afternoon to bake cookies and make confect. I plan another afternoon or two to write some Christmas cards. An afternoon or two or three is for to hang out with friends and family, enjoy a theatre performance, a church concert, a cup of hot and spicy glögg at some cosy café and a walk in the streets just to watch and enjoy the lights and glitter of the city.
And still there’s time, maybe even for a quiet twilight walk at the seaside – to consider my next art projects. A lot of new challenges have appeared on the schedule for the next months. I’ll soon write another post on that …
