Where does inspiration come from?

Posted in Art projects, Inspiration, Writing at 12:19 am by hanne

An interesting and long term project takes form these days. I have been asked to contribute information and photos for a book that will explore artists’ studios as well as the sources from which artists gain inspiration. A long list of questions has opened a room of deep reflection on this issue – and now I can hardly stop again. Memories keep emerging from strange and unexpected places. A most interesting process!!!

The most difficult point to deal with has been the quality of daylight. The light is always a crucial point when it comes to indoor shots. You know the saying: the sky’s the limit. It’s true when it comes to photographing! And the sky has been a bit low most days lately, however, luckily also including some brighter moments!

The book is not expected till 2010 – after a lot of editing has taken place. Anyway that’s not my table; it’s in the hands of the editors. I have done my part – and try now to wait patiently!

Easy boy boy

First page  ready for Cigar Box Book – another Artrovert co-project.

We each picked some of the words from Leo “The Lion” Mathisen´s  ”Take it easy boy boy”. We make the pages individually – and hope they´ll somehow end up as a whole.

Productive gathering

Yet another tremendous ARTROVERT meeting here at my place – in a rapid and efficiently thinking and working groove this time!

We (almost) managed to finish both our trunk book “Looking ba (ck) g” and “10. 01.09”, a status/documentation of “the situation” at 8.00 to 10.00 in the morning (a specific morning in January) … AND start a new project ”Take it easy”, an accordion book in a cigar box . Title inspired by Leo – The Lion – Mathisen´s (jazz) tune.

The lyrics go like this: “Take it easy, boy, boy, go to your home, smoke a cigar, take it easy boy, boy, let the others do the hard work for you “. We could do with a look at the more pleasant, relaxed easy-going aspects of life now after diving in the darker depths of “Pack up your troubles” and “Looking ba (ck) g”.

Animated by the god results as well as the flow of energy we generated together, we even ended up booking 3 x fly tickets for Vilnius!
