A Gathering of The Tribes

Last week I went to New York to attend the opening of the ARTMONEY exhibition at  Manhattan. It has been an amazing experience to be here.

I have actually walked, run and bicycled all over the place – and watched and watched so my eyes almost jumped out their sockets and my feet and legs have been completely worn out. How wonderful this is. Exhausting – but also extremely rewarding and inspiring to take in ‘stuff’ from street art to the established scene as eg Moma – and of course our own event at cult gallery A Gathering of the Tribes run for more than 40 years by Professor Steve Cannon and his people in East Village.

Several of the participating artists were present at the opening. It was great to meet in this festive way – welcomed by the project’s founder Lars Kraemmer, words from Steve Cannon, the grand old man himself, piano performance by Carmen Moore and all rooms crowded with interested and interesting guests.

Highly grateful to have experienced this!
