Got material back today from Micro-Pages, a project that aims at discussing issues surrounding the display of artists’ books. A series of selected artists’ books has been turned into a 35 mm reel of microfilm – and is now on a touring exhibition to libraries and archive centres in UK – and Sweden – where the work will be accessed through microfilm readers.
Abigail Thomas is curator of the project. She’s an artist herself but has also more years experience working in a library. This way processes from the daily routines at the library like stamping, shelving, jacketing, microfilm reading, photocopying etc has influenced her art practice as well as field of interest.
I’ll now register Micro-Pages at my blog roll among other sites concerning BOOK ART.
