Trip to Arken to see works by Frida Kahlo, one of my absolute favorite painters. Love her bright colors, her deeply personal statements and direct gaze! Here everything comes out in the open…

The major part of the exhibition was her paintings works, but also photos and artefacts documenting her life were on display. Frida always had a reputation for cultivating her own self image. And yes, it was totally interesting to study the paintings versus the photos and artefacts. Everything – including some of her beautiful dresses and not least – the corsets and other devices that held together her fragile body – added to the impression of an extraordinary powerfull passionate person with iron will, stamina and charisma.

So inspiring! Go home and paint what’s in your life!
