Attended a conference Words in your eye at Landsforeningen Børn, Kunst og Billeder (National Association of Children, Art and Images) yesterday and heard 3 fine lectures/ artists’ talks. First my wonderful colleague Mogens Otto told about his life with mail art, then we had a very exciting lecture about the letter painter Poul Pedersen by his goddaughter Anne-Mette Riis Rasmusse – and finally the Swedish writer and visual artist Magnus Lönn talked about his investigations of relations between letters, words and images.
I was fortunate to be part of it all – inclusives lovely lunch at Silkeborg Bad – since I was invited to manage one of he afternoon workshops. In my workshop the participants worked with book-art in comfortable simple versions that can easily be created with children. Working with books with children is a great opportunity indeed – and it’s a pleasure to help upgrade teachers and managers of arts schools.
